What Customers Say About +9dB "Linksys" 15" Booster Antenna:

Even out in my yard I am getting a stronger signal than I was before istalling these antennas. As others have already pointed out, regarding these high-gain antennas, they help intensify the wireless signal mostly on a horizontal plane, so they will not likely help boost the signal much on other floors of your home or business. Once I installed a pair of these +9dB 15" booster antennas, I could then get between 4 and 5 bars. I ended up repositioning the rounter (just turned it a bit) and adjusted the antennas a bit, and now I get a very solid 5 bars on the entire main level of my home, and a good 4 bars on the lower level. I recently purchased a set of these +9dB booster antennas to install on a new Linksys WAP54G Wireless Access Point. However, if you are looking to increase your wireless range on the same floor of your home (or business) that your router or wireless access point is on, then these antennas should prove to be a good investment. I ended up having to run out and purchase adapters. Well even though the Amazon product page shows this item will fit the WAP54G, in my case these antennas wouldn't fit. I had tested signal strength of my WAP54G throughout my house, and at the far corners I was receiving between 2 to 3 bars, as shown on my tablet PC (using the integrated Intel PRO Wi-Fi chip).
The best price I could find in Dallas was $40.00. Not that I live in a large house but I have a home office in the front and my bedroom is in the back. Installation: like a light bulb unscrew the old one and screw in the new one. Now I have 3 bars and it works perfectly.
First this is a very unscientific review. Overall this did everything I wanted. Even I did it the first time. I use Verizon's FIOS and the router that comes with FIOS.
Even in the back yard. Connection threw the house and even the back yard. It has the small antenna. I could not use my laptop in the back of the house.
